Master Bedroom Refresh + Plans!

Happy Tuesday friend! Today is a gloomy, rainy, Michigan day, but I really shouldn’t complain. We’ve been having GORGEOUS weather lately, especially for April! This weekend I opened up the windows and did some deep spring cleaning. I also did a quick refresh in our master bedroom that I’m excited to show you!

If you want to do a simple refresh of a space, it really doesn’t take much time or money. All I did in our bedroom was swap out ONE piece, which was ….. our comforter!

Do you know how you can tell it’s new? From those wrinkles at the bottom šŸ™‚ Oh, and that it isn’t covered with dog hair and/or dirt. We chose the INK+IVY Rhea Comforter Set from Bed Bath & Beyond and we are super happy with it! It also comes as a Duvet Set if that’s more your style.

It is very soft and completely covers our king size bed. I love when I see gorgeous bedrooms on Instagram with beautiful, white bedding. As much as I would have loved to do that here, we just can’t with our dog. He jumps up into bed all the time, so I couldn’t justify an all-white comforter. This INK+IVY Rhea pattern has enough black built in that I’m confident we won’t be able to see every paw mark.

I really didn’t mind our previous bedding, I actually loved it! Sometimes, though, it’s just time for a change. We had a little money left over from our wedding in September, so this seemed like a great investment. The comforter originally cost $139.99, but you’d be crazy not to use a 20% off coupon at BB&B, so the total really only came out to $111.99. We had been talking about a new comforter for a while, and I’m glad we finally did it! Here’s a quick reminder of what it used to look like.

So now that we’ve done this quick refresh, I’m ready to do a larger overhaul of this room. All of which will obviously be budget friendly, and all DIY. The next thing I want to do is paint an accent wall behind our bed. We went to Menard’s over the weekend to get some paint swatches and I think I need your help. I’ve narrowed it down to three choices.

Green is my favorite color and it also has permeated it’s way through our home. I was originally thinking of doing a dark green based on the inspiration from one of my favorite Instagram ladies, Sarah from @graceinmyspace. She is the most beautiful board and batten wall in her master bedroom and has it painted dark green. I mean, check this baby out!

Happy Monday my friends! I hope you all had a blessed Easter weekend celebrating our risen Savior. ?? This week I have so many exciting things happening! Iā€™m hoping to get my bedroom back from all the kitchen storage since our cabinets are getting installed in the kitchen. ?? We will still have a few weeks left of the renovation since our quartz needs to be fabricated (among a ton of other details) but at this point Iā€™m just going to revel in some semi-organized spaces. ? . Up on the blog today I have the third part in my series on spiritual maturity for my #mondaymusingsofgrace. I would love to do a board and batten wall, and we still might someday. She has a great tutorial on her blog on how she did it. For now, though, we’re just going to paint. So, keep this color in mind, because I’m going to have you vote at the end. This would be the last, and darkest, color.

While scrolling through Pinterest the other day, I found another gorgeous inspiration pic. This time, though, it was a really light, almost seafoam-like green. (picture credit unknown – if this is your photo, please fill out a “Contact Me” form on my website so that I can give you credit!)

This green is very peaceful, but I’m not sure it would make enough of a statement. So, let’s look at the green in between these.

While we were at Menard’s, I had zero interest in the middle green. I either wanted light, or I wanted dark. However, once I got it into our bedroom, it really started to grow on me! So now it’s decision time and I don’t think I can do it alone! So, now it’s voting time. Check out the graphic below and think about your favorite. Then, leave me a comment below or head over to my Instagram page to vote for your favorite! Thank you as always for visiting the blog today!
