Hi friend! Today I’m bringing you my fall house tour, but it seems a little odd. You see, here in Michigan we’re in what we call our “Second Summer.” Last week we got a little taste of fall, and now we’re back to temps in the 80s and sunshine.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m definitely not complaining. I’m not really even ready for summer to end. However, I’m also ready for some pumpkin spice and apple cider. Either way, I did some early fall decorating around our house that I’m excited to share with you. Let’s go on a fall house tour!

I wanted to keep my fireplace simple for the first part of fall. Additionally, everything on my mantle is something that I had around the house. The first thing I do when decorating for a season is put up things that I already have. If I find there are gaps and I need more, I have a good direction before I go shopping. You can find similar items below.
- Amber Bottles: here and here, both from the Hearth & Hand Line
- Candle Holders: from Amazon
- Frame: Hobby Lobby
I cut some hydrangeas from our front yard to garnish our dining room table. I love the deep hue of pink they turn this time of year! Also, did you catch a glimpse of my Antique Candle Co. candle on the mantle? I ended up getting the Fall Bundle of Three, and this Fall Harvest candle is probably my favorite. Keep your eyes open for where I stashed the other two!
I couldn’t wait to use my Hearth & Hand Diffuser that my husband got me for Christmas last year. I love the cute amber bottle and I always try to incorporate those throughout my fall decor. As you can see, my shelves are covered with them! Most of mine are from thrift stores, but I will also link some below for your convenience.
- Amber Bottles: Amazon, Target
- Hearth and Hand Diffuser: Sugared Birch or Cedar flavored
When I style my ladder shelf I place the large items on first and fill in with smaller items and greenery. I knew I wanted to use these lanterns with a cute, little white pumpkin inside. I then tried to space out the greenery vs. faux sedum bunches to add color. Antique books are, and probably will always be, my favorite way to decorate these shelves.
And did you find my Pumpkin Spice candle before the close-up view? I haven’t burned this one yet, but just the initial smells indicate it’s going to be a good one!
- Faux Greenery: Amazon
- Black Lanterns: I got mine from Aldi, but here are some similar ones from Walmart
- Larger white pumpkins: Dollar Tree (I painted them white)
- Smaller white pumpkins: 12 pack on Amazon
- Sedum faux stalks: I got mine from At Home
For my tray I typically keep the same setup for each season, I just switch up the items. For fall I added a pumpkin and this awesome Apple Pickin’ candle.
Everything in that white pitcher is totally faux and things that I purchased last year. Most of it was even from the Dollar Tree! I love the color it brings to this corner of the living room. And how much do you love how I’m using that old, vintage crock for our dog bones?? Who said storage can’t also be good looking?
The last area I have dolled up for fall so far is my desk. We have this desk in our guest bedroom and it’s actually where I do my makeup every morning. If you’ve been following Beau Place Like Home for a while now, you know that my dad built this desk for me. I love decorating these little cubbies with seasonal items.
- Black Envelopes: Amazon
- Faux greenery in cement pot: Amazon
- White pumpkins: Dollar Tree
- Desk: handmade!
I hope you enjoyed this quick fall house tour. If you know me at all, you know that I will be switching things up soon, but for now I’m loving the comfy, cozy vibes that come with fall. Have you started decorating for fall yet?
