Happy Wednesday friends! Today I am super excited to share with you our new living room color! How many of you out there hate painting? Yes? Well join on in with the Beauchamp family over here because we’re right there with ya! But, do you know why we do it? It’s because it makes such a huge difference! Exhibit A, here are a few before picture of our living room.
The paint color was not horrible, but it was just too dark. There are two huge windows in our living room, but because we’re gone most of the day, we never get to enjoy the light. Brightening up the walls seemed to be the best way to lighten up the room as a whole.
As you can see, we also have some pretty dark furniture in our living room at the moment. The plan is to hopefully swap those out for lighter tan items, but that won’t happen for a little while still. Plus, we have a dog that likes to dig holes in the backyard and them come snuggle on the couch. What are a couple dog parents to do??
Before we started painting we tried out a few different colors. We knew we didn’t want a pure white, but more something with a softer shade of tan. We settled on the color “Almond Whip,” which sort of sounds like a dessert. Maybe that’s why I love it! The paint we bought was the Pittsburgh Interior paint from Menard’s and we chose the eggshell finish.
Once the painting began, I was like a kid in a candy shop! I mean, look at this difference!!
Without further ado, here are a few after pics! I absolutely LOVE how it turned out and everything feels light, bright and airy!
Baxter seems to be enjoying it as well!
I know these photos seem pretty bare when it comes to the home décor and you’re asking yourself this question, “Lindsay, where are the Christmas decorations??” I promise those are coming soon! Make sure you subscribe to my newsletter so you don’t miss a thing here at Beau Place Like Home! Absolutely love it!
Thank you! We are happy with how bright it makes everything! Especially the Christmas lights 🙂
