Serenity Drive Update

Wow it has been SO long since I have given y’all an update on my parent’s place, Serenity Drive. Not sure what I’m talking about? Catch up HERE, HERE and HERE. So much has been going on. Right now – they have a tentative move-in date of the first week of August. Maybe sooner!

At this point in the renovation, my dad is working 6 days a week to keep things moving. Since I’ve been slacking on posts lately, here’s a quick rundown of what’s been happening since I updated you last.

New Insulation

Master Bedroom
Living Room

The entire house was sprayed with foam insulation. My dad did have this hired out, and the guys did a great job. This being an old house, it was very drafty. The insulation will help a lot when it comes to energy efficiency.

Drywall

Living Room
Master Bedroom
Master Bathroom – shower nook to the left, toilet to the right

The entire drywall process took about 6 weeks when you factor in the waiting time, drywall hanging and then the taping/mudding. Once the drywall was up, that made probably the biggest difference besides tearing all of the walls down. It was really starting to feel like a new home!

The Start of Paint

Kitchen – also with new subfloor
Guest Bedroom #1
Living Room

Painting has started, which is another huge improvement! So far the kitchen, dining, living, hallway, guest bedroom #1 and the guest bathroom have been painted. From the picture above you can also see the cabinets have all been brought up and are ready to be installed *hopefully* next week!

Guest Bathroom Shower Tiling

The guest bathroom shower is fully tiled and just needs grout. It’s very similar to the bathroom my dad did at their current house, which you can see HERE. He’s hoping to set the new vanity next week and the floor tile should be in soon as well. This bathroom will be ready for use before you know it!

I’m going to really try to give you better updates, but if you’re having fun following this process, make sure to follow me on Instagram! I have a “Fixer Upper” highlight on my profile with fun videos! Until next time 🙂
