We’ve made it to Friday! Woohoo! You may be happy to know that we have finally turned our heat on… reluctantly. Thankfully it’s supposed to warm up a little this weekend. Good thing too, because we’ll be sealing our new (restored) hardwood floors so we’ll have to have the windows open. Be sure to check back next week to see an update on those! But, until then, it’s time for my Friday Favorites pick of the week, my friend Amanda from @comestayawhile!
What I love about Amanda’s style is that is it budget friendly, and everything always looks so clean. See that brick wall behind the mirror? That’s actually peel and stick wallpaper. She uses peel and stick because she and her husband are actually living in a rental! You would never know it’s a rental because her entire home is beyond gorgeous!

Moving into Amanda’s kitchen, we see a gorgeous galley-style design. Now, open concept is all the rage these days. I mean, don’t even get me started on how many times the phrase “open concept” is said during a single HGTV episode! However, I am absolutely in love with her design. It looks functional, cute, and she is always sharing great organization tips in her Instagram stories.
Amanda works from home, so she created this beautiful home office! She did sharpie shiplap throughout the entire room which makes a big difference! Now, I don’t recommend doing the sharpie shiplap on your rental without asking, but it’s an easy thing to paint over if your landlord makes you do that before you move out. It’s easy, cost-effective, and oh so cute!
I’ve been following Amanda from the very beginning when she created her account. One of her first IG DIYs was this cute laundry room closet. She added the shiplap wallpaper and curtains to turn her blah closet into a cute and functional laundry space. And would you look at those cute pups! Even the halloween one 🙂
Do yourself a favor and click on the photo above to go see the before. It is such a drastic difference! Here in Michigan (Amanda is in Lansing!) we love our three season rooms. Amanda’s space looks like the perfect spot to curl up with a hot chocolate during this chilly fall weather we’ve been having lately.
I have really loved following Amanda throughout the last year or so. Not only does she have great style, but she’s a genuine person – and funny! How PERFECT are their Halloween costumes as Dwight and Angela from the office? As an Office lover, I fully support these costumes!
If you haven’t found Amanda on Instagram yet, head on over and give her a follow. She also has a super cute blog where she shares design, fashion, and even easy recipes. I am happy to include Amanda (@comestayawhile) in my list of Friday Favorites! Until next time!
Love your decorating style. Can you give me the dimensions of your sunroom?
Thanks
Thanks for reading! This blog post was actually a feature piece on my friend Amanda, so I’m not totally sure on the dimensions. Unfortunately she has also moved since I wrote this.
